MACA IS ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR - Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts is accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year in the art areas of creative writing, dance, instrumental music, theatre, visual arts, and vocal music. East Elementary: After-school tutoring for today (Thursday, Feb 3rd) has been cancelled due to staffing.
East Elementary students will be taking class pictures on Friday February 11. The cost of an 8x10 picture is $15. Students are to dress in their usual school uniform. Pictures must be paid for in advance.
East Elementary: Beginning Monday, Jan 31st, there will be a schedule change for after school tutoring (Learning Beyond the Bell). Kindergarten - 2nd grade students will attend tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays. 3rd and 4th grade students will attend tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (Student will no longer attend every day.) After further consultation with the Office of Emergency Preparedness and receiving the latest reports from the National Weather Service, all St. Landry Parish School Board schools, Head Start centers, and administrative offices will be closed tomorrow, January 21, 2022. Students will not have remote learning tomorrow.

After school tutoring at East Elementary will be canceled today, Wednesday, Jan 19. Sorry for the inconvenience. Students will be sent home according to their regular day. Please contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
3rd and 4th grade students will begin LEAP tutoring from 3:30pm-5:30pm on Tuesday's and Thursday's. This is part of our after-school tutoring program. If your student has not been participating in after-school tutoring, you may sign them up to participate by calling the front office.

If you suspect your child of having Talented characteristics in MUSIC, THEATRE AND/OR VISUAL ART contact your child’s school for a referral to the School Building Level Committee. Talented referrals and evaluations are only conducted once a year in the Spring.
