This week we would like to Highlight Plaisance Middle School's Chess Club. Thank you to our sponsors Mrs. Doherty & Mrs. Chapman. Also, we would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Kevin Fite for sponsoring our school with this activity and for assisting our staff and students along the way.

Introducing Ms. Tammy Roberts, our Support Person of the Year and Cafeteria Manager! Tammy always greets students and staff with a bright smile and a warm welcome. She is an outstanding employee whose positive spirit and dedication make a difference every day on campus.

Introducing Mrs. Maigen Schexnayder, our New Teacher of the Year! She quickly connects with her students and is eager and ready to be the best teacher she can be. Mrs. Schexnayder isn’t afraid to speak up and ask questions, showing her dedication to continuous learning. She builds strong rapport with her students and is deeply committed to the success of every learner in her classroom.

Introducing Mrs. Wilbrielle Chapman, Plaisance Middle’s Teacher of the Year! She brings an overall positive attitude to the campus, encouraging every student to perform their best. Mrs. Chapman connects with students effortlessly; her warm smile and infectious laugh create a welcoming environment for everyone she meets. She shows genuine interest and care for all students on campus.

Her excellent communication skills keep parents engaged and connected with daily campus life. Always going above and beyond, Mrs. Chapman’s joyful spirit shines through in all she does, making a lasting impact on our school community.

Hello Indian faithful!!!! On behalf of the P.M.S Administration, Faculty, & Staff we want to take this time to congratulate the 25-26 Mighty Indians Football Team! They are the 6-2 National League Champions of St. Landry Parish! Runner up SLP Jr. High Parish Champs! Hats off to Coach Davis and all of the coaches that help mold this championship team! Please help us acknowledge their accomplishments of this season! Let these Mighty Indians know where your hearts lie! We’re the Mighty Indians baby!!! Congratulations fellas!!!!

Join us in celebrating National Principal's Month by recognizing the amazing work of Chasity Williams! She is a dedicated leader at Plaisance Middle School who works hard for her students and staff every day. Thank you, Principal Williams, for everything you do to make your school successful!

TONIGHT! TONIGHT! Tonight is the night! The Championship is tonight at 6:00pm. We hope to see you there at Donald Gardiner Stadium! Please come out and support the Mighty Indian Football Team as they fight for the right to be called SLP Champions! Please remember that the SLP Clear Bag Policy is in effect and all students need to be accompanied by a parent and/or guardian. You can pay online or at the gate to enter! $8 for adults and $5 for students!

Our Annual Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025. Scan the QR code to pay the admission fee of $5.00. Kona Ice Truck will be present so be sure to have your cash on hand!

On yesterday afternoon our 21st Century Tutoring Program held its Lights On Program and it was a great success! PMS and the 21st Century staff would like to thank all who attended. Thanks to Mr. Perry Fontenot and Mr. Raymond Cassimere for stopping by and supporting the teachers and students. Thanks to the parents for showing up and being apart of making it a great success.
