The water pressure issue has been resolved and we will continue with our regular class day tomorrow.
For today Monday Jan. 27th 2025 we are cancelling all After School events and programs due to low water pressure. We will not have After-School Tutoring and the Basketball game against Opelousas Jr. High are cancelled for this afternoon.

Return to Normal Uniform Requirements
Dear Families,
With temperatures expected to rise above 50 degrees this week, we will be returning to our normal uniform requirements. Please ensure that students come to school dressed in accordance with the district’s uniform policy.

On Friday our 5th Grade Indians celebrated their conclusion of D.A.R.E. with their graduation! Congratulations 5th Grade this honor is well deserved.
PMS would love to thank Ms. Takiyah Williams of Sekani's Wings for treating our Students and Staff today!!! Thanks for treating us to "Just a little taste of Memphis" as you say! We also like to thank you for the info about entrepreneurship you shared with our 8th Graders. They really appreciated it! We hope to do this again! Best wishes from the Indians of Plaisance Middle!
We want to say congratulations to all of our Indians that showed growth on their iREADY Diagnostic II! Pizza, a little relaxation, and a little camaraderie makes these types of days great! Go Mighty Indians!
Watch them tinker! Watch them construct! Watch them program! That's what our 7th and 8th Grade Robotics Classes are doing! I wonder what this project will produce. 🤔🤔🤔
Notification of Early Dismissal Due to Water Outage:
Dear Parents,
We are currently experiencing a water outage at Grand Prairie Elementary School, which is expected to continue for most of the day. As a result, the school will dismiss at 1:00 PM today. All Plaisance students will be dismissed at that time also due to the transportation conflicts with early dismissal.
Important Details:
~Pick-Up Option: Parents are welcome to pick up their children at the school; however, bus transportation will be available.
~Bus Transportation: Bus transportation will be available for all students who normally ride the bus.
~Important Note for Bus Riders: If your child is a bus rider and there will be no one at home to receive them, please notify the school before the 1:00 PM dismissal time.
~All after-school activities are suspended for the day.
~If water is restored before then, school will continue to operate at both sites. (You will be notified if this happens.)

We would like to congratulate Ms. Tyreionna Papillion for placing 1st in the Governor's Office of Disability Affairs Art Contest, 6-8 Grade Division. She represented us well in Baton Rouge today! Congratulations to this Mighty Indian!
We are super proud to announce our District Students of the Year. Introducing Braelynn O. (Arnaudville Middle), the 5th-grade District Student of the Year; Addisyn D. (MACA), the 8th-grade District Student of the Year; and Fajah G. (Eunice High School), the 12th-grade district student of the year.
