The Hurricanes will be playing for the State Championship on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles, LA. Superintendent Jenkins has approved a school closure for the North Central High School zone on Friday, March 11, 2022. This school closure impacts the following schools--North Central High, Palmetto Elementary, Washington Elementary, and the Head Start centers of the zone.
****Students based at NCHS/Washington Elementary/Palmetto Elementary who attend CAPS, SLATS, MACA, and Washington Career Center will be excused from classes on March 11, 2022.

Consequently, Superintendent Jenkins has approved an early dismissal of 12:00 p.m. for the North Central school zone. Palmetto Elementary, Washington Elementary, CAPS, SLATS, MACA, Washington Career Center, and the Head Start centers.

Students entering 7th-12th grade in the 2022-2023 school year and interested in creative writing, theatre, dance, band, chorus, or art are eligible to apply.
