Important Message from Mrs. Charles:
This week, the St. Landry Parish School District learned that two (2) staff members and (3) students at Lawtell Elementary tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the number of staff members that must quarantine per CDC guidelines, the Lawtell Elementary campus will be closing to students effective Monday, December 14, 2020, at the end of the day. Staff members will continue to report to campus each day while working virtually. These measures are being taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all community members and the school.
During this time, all students will receive remote instruction. Virtual learning will begin Tuesday , December 15, 2020, and in-person learning will resume on January 4, 2021. Students in grades prek-4th will log on daily at 8AM using Google Meet. Students in grades 5th-8th will log on to Google Meet at 8:00 AM, following their hybrid A/B schedule.
